What is the elongation of Dynamica SK78?

Dynamica SK78 ropes are not only strong and light, but also have low elongation and low creep making it a safe alternative to steel wire.

In case of overload and break, SK78 ropes’ low mass and elongation results in the energy being distributed along the rope’s entire length in a linear fashion with a relatively low recoil. Whereas, steel wire is known for lashing out endangering riggers and equipment.

Is Dynamica SK78 rotation free?

Yes, Dynamica SK78 has a torque-neutral construction, which means that “snaking”, bird caging and kinking is not an issue, which is a common problem with steel wire ropes.

Do & don’t

Do not use your Dynamica SK78 over rusty surfaces and sharp edges as this can lead to cuts, abrasion rope abuse and splice damages. To attain long service life ensure all surfaces are in proper condition.

How to cover & protect SK78 ropes?

Want longer service life? Protect your rope with a cover!

With a cover Dynamica SK78 ropes become even more abrasion resistant. We recommend that Dynamica SK78 is always covered in the eyes and other bearing points. For some operations, we recommend a cover on rope’s entire length.

The cover can be braided or woven made of Cordura, Polyester or Dyneema®.

We advise you on the choice of cover for your SK78 rope.

What to look for while inspecting Dynamica SK78?

Dynamica SK78 ropes should be inspected frequently in order to ensure a safe use and long service life. During an inspection always look for signs of:

  • Rope construction damage

  • Cover damage

  • Abrasion

  • Inconsistent diameter
