Cover solutions

Attain greater abrasion resistance

Want longer service life? Protect your rope and sling solution with a cover!

Extend lifetime usage with our sling protection products

Even though our Dyneema® lifting slings are really strong and have great protection against wear, you can protect them further, making them last even longer, by adding additional protection with our sleeves/covers. These protection products are made from various materials, ranging from polyester to Dyneema®.

The purpose of wear sleeves

When using a lifting sling, it can come into contact with rough or sharp edges and surfaces, which could potentially damage it. To prevent this, wear sleeves are used as covers for the lifting slings. The wear sleeves act as a shield for the lifting sling, providing an extra layer of protection, including cut protection and sometimes also protection against chemicals.

The sleeves simply slip over the lifting slings, and provide a very resistant and protective barrier. They help to reduce the wear and tear on the sling, extending its lifespan and ensuring it remains strong and reliable for lifting heavy objects.

See a variety of our wear sleeve types below.

Heavy duty polyester

The heavy duty polyester cover offers good abrasion resistance, can withstand high temperatures and is the most common choice for slings with a low WLL (Working Load Limit).

The cover is orange and can be used on the entire length.

Single Cordura

Cordura is used in the toughest environments as it is both strong and withstands daily wear; protecting the rope from tear, scuffing etc.

Single Cordura is used for less abrasive applications where the softness and flexibility are an advantage.

Single Cordura is blue, used for both ropes, fibre slings, tethers and winch ropes on the entire length.

Dual Cordura

Like Single Cordura, Dual Cordura is used in the toughest environments as it is both strong and withstands daily wear; protecting the rope from tear, scuffing etc.

Dual Cordura is used for very abrasive applications as the double sided woven fabric is an advantage in applications where the risk of chafing is significant.

Dual Cordura is used for both ropes, slings, tethers and winch ropes on the entire length. The cover is blue on the outside and red on the inside, which is used as an indicator mark in case of a cut through the outer blue layer.

DuraForce

DuraForce is a unique mix of Dyneema® and Single Cordura making it resistant to wear, chemicals and harsh use - even more durable than Dual Cordura.

DuraForce is blue and white, but seems grey from a distance. It is primarily used for slings on the entire length.

Woven Dyneema® 1.5 mm

Woven Dyneema® both 1.5 and 3.0 mm are the most wear resistant of all covers making them an ideal choice for operations in the most harsh and risky environments.

The 1.5 mm woven Dyneema® is used for slings, ropes, tethers and winch ropes on the entire length, bearing points and in the eyes. The cover is white.

Woven Dyneema® 3.0 mm

Woven Dyneema® both 1.5 and 3.0 mm are the most wear resistant of all covers making them an ideal choice for operations in the most harsh and risky environments.

The 3.0 mm woven Dyneema® is used for slings, ropes, tethers and winch ropes on the entire length, bearing points and in the eyes. The cover is white.

Braided polyester cover

The hard braided cover is used for ropes, rope slings, rope tethers and winch ropes on the body.

The individual filaments are impregnated and heat set in order to close the fibres and elevate the wear resistance. The braided cover is not as durable as Dynamica PRO cover but is a cost friendly alternative.

The braided cover can be custom-made in terms of colour.

Braided Dynamica PRO cover

At Dynamica Ropes, we have designed the Dynamica PRO cover; a hard braided cover used for ropes, rope slings, rope tethers and winch ropes on the entire length, bearing points, spliced areas and in the eyes.

The individual filaments in the Dynamica PRO cover are impregnated and heat set in order to close the fibres and elevate the abrasion resistance; making the cover very durable.

The braided cover can be custom-made in terms of colour but our standard range is yellow, black and blue.
