Reduced risk in heavy lifting operations

Synthetic fibre slings for nacelle lifting

High-performance synthetic materials have increasingly been used to reduce risk in heavy lifting operations on- & offshore.

Back when the installation of Haliade-X was in the pipeline, GE Renewable Energy contacted us; looking for lighter, strong and safer lifting equipment for the nacelle lifting.

We have previously delivered high performance slings for on- & offshore lifting operations e.g. for wind farms in Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Poland and UK - therefore, our R&D team had experience in engineering effective and safer lifting slings.

In cooperation with GE, we decided our Dynamica SecureLift Slings with respective MBL capacities of 1700, 1100, 900 and 650 t for the nacelle and tower lifting.

"I'm very proud to be a part of the Haliade-X operation - Dynamica Ropes' DNA is to make lifting operations safer with synthetic fibre solutions. Delivering these slings to GE within a very short time frame was one of the biggest and most exciting challenges taken on by our team. GE allowed us to prove the capabilities of our high-performance Dynamica slings and the technical capability of our team."

Said Kate Christensen, Sales Manager at Dynamica Ropes

The turbine prototype was installed onshore to facilitate access for testing at Maasvlakte in the Port of Rotterdam.

For the final heavy lifting operation of the 107 m blades, Dynamica Winch ropes were used to position the blades into place.
